Turning Plastic
Waste into
Purpose.
Revolutionary technology that converts low-value and low-grade plastics into durable, eco-friendly products.
How We Transform Waste
From discarded plastic to durable resources — every step of our process is designed for sustainability
Collect
We gather low-value plastics from communities, rivers, and waste collection points across Kathmandu.
Sort & Clean
Plastics are sorted by type, cleaned thoroughly, and prepared for processing using our eco-friendly methods.
Shred
Materials are shredded into fine flakes using our innovative cycle-powered shredder — zero electricity needed.
Melt & Mold
Shredded plastic is melted and molded into durable composite boards, tiles, and structural components.
Craft Products
From benches to building materials, each product is crafted with precision and care for lasting quality.
Circular Impact
Products go back into communities — creating jobs, reducing waste, and closing the loop on plastic pollution.

UNDP Accelerator Lab Partnership
This groundbreaking partnership represents our largest community impact project to date. Working closely with UNDP Nepal's Accelerator Lab and Blue Waste to Value, we've successfully converted over 2000kg of plastic waste, primarily shampoo bottles, into 20+ durable public benches installed across Lalitpur Metropolitan City. The project demonstrates the practical application of circular economy principles while creating tangible community benefits.

Transforming Plastic Waste into Purpose: Kleanit Upcyclers and UNDP Support 25 Schools in Nepal
In collaboration with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Kleanit Upcyclers produced and donated 150 pieces of school furniture—crafted entirely from non-monetary-value Multi-Layered Plastics (MLPs)—to 25 schools across Sarlahi and Rautahat districts. By diverting 6,760 kg of hard-to-recycle plastics from landfills, the project created durable, functional furniture that improves learning environments while showcasing the power of circular design in community development.

Scaling Impact with Style: 10 Benches Deployed Under STRLP 1
Project STLRP, executed by Kleanit Upcyclers in partnership with the Nepal Tourism Board (NTB), introduced 10 three-seater benches crafted entirely from recycled polypropylene (PP) plastics and Multi Layered Plastics (MLP). By transforming 500 kg of low-value plastic into durable, weather-resistant public seating, the project demonstrates the scalability of sustainable furniture design, proving that eco-conscious infrastructure can be both functional and replicable across Nepal.
Our SDG Contributions
Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), our work ensures measurable environmental, social, and economic outcomes.
SDG 12 — Responsible Consumption & Production
Kleanit turns Kathmandu's hardest-to-recycle plastic — noodle packets, multilayer wrappers, oil bottles — into durable upcycled products. Every soap dish, tile, and board replaces virgin plastic and keeps the circular economy moving in Nepal.
SDG 13 — Climate Action
We stop plastic from being burned or dumped, cutting the toxic emissions that come with informal waste disposal. Our cycle-powered shredder runs on pedal power, not fuel — recycling with a lighter carbon footprint.
SDG 11 — Sustainable Cities & Communities
From plastic collection in Nagarjun to trash-boom upkeep on the Bagmati at Pashupatinath, Kleanit keeps the city cleaner. Our recycled bricks, footpath tiles, and benches go straight back into community spaces.
SDG 9 — Industry, Innovation & Infrastructure
Kleanit builds low-cost recycling technology made for Nepal — including the country's first cycle-powered plastic shredder. We prove that climate-smart manufacturing can be local, affordable, and built to last.
SDG 8 — Decent Work & Economic Growth
As a youth-led social enterprise, Kleanit creates green jobs across collection, processing, and production. We show that environmental work can be a real livelihood, not just a cause.
SDG 14 — Life Below Water
Our trash booms on the Bagmati catch plastic before it flows downstream toward larger rivers and the sea. Stopping plastic at the source means less marine pollution everywhere it travels.
SDG 15 — Life on Land
By diverting plastic from dumpsites and waterways, Kleanit protects Nepal's soil, green spaces, and wildlife from contamination and microplastics. Cleaner land and riverbanks make room for healthier ecosystems.
SDG 17 — Partnerships for the Goals
Kleanit scales its impact through partners like UNDP, KOICA, Impact Hub, FHI-360, and the Nepal Tourism Board. Real change on plastic waste takes collaboration — and we build it.
